Synopsis

This story is the classic tale of a poor Southern belle who marries a wealthy older man and then must secure a place for herself in his life, death, and will. Katherine Elizabeth "Sweet Mama" Banks is the wife of Fat Daddy, Nathaniel Morris. This is the story of their romance - or lack thereof.

It is also the story of another woman, unlucky in love and bitter about it all. Doris Trumball married Arnold Trumball when she was 27. They divorced eleven years later when Arnold asked her to choose between him and her acting career. This is her story as well.

Two romances and two murders come together to create a novel of hope and a bright future.
